“I am from upper Egypt. I have two sons and two daughters. I have been a social worker for more than forty years. My husband was a teacher of English. He died sixteen years ago. I want to show you Bouleg area, a very poor neighbourhood of Cairo. Both Christians and Muslims live here. Together with an American
woman I have given people tools to set up businesses. It is like a micro-credit programme. In this street you can see old furniture that was thrown away elsewhere; here they restore it to sell it again. I make no difference between Muslims or Christians. They know me for what I do and they ask me for help. They all love me for having helped them.”
